In Juli 2018 3 villages in Sumba were provided with off grid sustainable energy systems.
One system includes one mini wind turbine and solar PV panels and led lighting for all houses. Each system will supply energy for 15 – 25 houses. At the beginning of this year, residents of the villages were trained to maintain the hybrid systems. These people will also be involved in the construction of the 3 wind turbines next to the villages. We hope that several residents have the ambition to be involved in the future wind farm.
